Job Description
· Check survey data received from the field and onboard the vessel for completeness and quality. Carry out data processing as per requirement.
· Carry out check computations using raw and processed data. Check and approve final map products.
· Ensure that technical data submitted in reports are correct.
· Check format and content of reports and charts.
· Provide survey data at project commencement to Party Chiefs.
· Responsible for correct processing of survey data.
· Operate the main functions within the company’s geophysical software packages
· Perform field quality control and ensure compliance with contract specifications
· Report to Party Chief or Datacentre Co-ordinator on progress.
· Be aware of and adhere to the safety policies and procedures of the company
· Empowered with the responsibility to halt unsafe work.

One of the world’s leading oilfield services company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Geologist to join their London team.
The role is very much development, wellsite optimization and production enhancement focused etc and you will be responsible for providing timely, well-considered, technically sound geologically-based advice to multiple in-house onsite clients, as well as presenting the results of geological studies to external stakeholders. You must also be capable and receptive to leading teams and taking on additional responsibilities as and when required.

MSc in Geology/Earth Sciences
12+ years working experience on multiple oil and/or gas fields or subsurface projects in the upstream petroleum industry with either a tier 1 oilfield services company or E&P company
Broad knowledge of and working experience in petroleum geology and petroleum systems
Sound knowledge of development/production geology.
Good appreciation of geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and petroleum engineering.
Ability to perform sequence stratigraphy analysis, geological description, reservoir characterisation and data analyses, with proven skills in geological/reservoir mapping and 3D reservoir modelling.
Knowledge of well-site geological operations and data acquisition (mud-logging, LWD/wire-line logging, coring etc.)
Experience in qualitative and quantitative petrophysical log analysis interpretation.
Experience with preparation of deterministic and probabilistic GIIP and STOIIP estimations.

The Role
To maximize the value of the client operated E&A activities in the Rhourde Yacoub project, and contribute to preparing and conducting of the Appraisal Phase.
Responsibilities
Geological well preparation including writing of well proposals
Geological operations
Planning and on-sight QC of logging and coring
Co-ordination of consultant work, i.e. well sight geologists
Provide key interface between G+G and drillers
Write post well reports
Contribute to Rhourde Yacoub development planning
Project management
Represent the E&P client in joint venture committees with Sonatrach
Business trips to Algiers, Hassi Messaoud and well locations

Requirements
10+ year experience in international E&P
Specific technical background in geological drilling operations
Enjoys working in international and rapidly acting teams
Have regional experience in Algeria
Fluency in Arabic or French (advantageous)
