Under strict supervision, assists the Service Supervisor during all phases of providing slickline services. Assists with pre-job product and service equipment preparation (assembly, test, mobilization) and performance of slickline services at the well site. Assists with post-job demobilization, clean up and repair of service equipment and products. Under general supervision, performs all phases of the rigging up and down of Surface Well Test (SWT) service line equipment on work locations for the purpose maintaining control and processing of well bore fluids during well testing operations and providing the customer with essential reservoir information by the use of (but not limited to): Surface Well Test and Surface Pressure Control equipment packages. Conducts pre-job toolbox safety meetings, reviews and verifies job plan with customer representative and manages any changes required, checks and verifies equipment as per job plan, completes all job documentation to include: Job Ticket, Job History Report, CV Metrics/KPI, Job Log, Job Summary etc. and demonstrates understanding of testing dynamics and basic reservoir theory – i.e. BHP, BHT, Phasing, etc. Must be able to troubleshoot most jobs with minimal direction. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact directly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills typically acquired through completion of high school or similar education and 5-1/2 years Surface Well Testing experience. Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements. Must have met the minimum competency requirements for the Service Specialist I – Surface Well Test. Must be able to interpret P&ID drawings, navigate data books and perform QA related tasks related to Surface Well Test equipment and operations. Must be able to pressure test SWT equipment safely. Must have demonstrated ability to work safely with hand tools. Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic rig functions and components related to Well Testing Operations. Must be able to explain the function of the mobilization documentation. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations as well as more detailed calculation understanding – i.e. choke coefficients, oil and gas calculations, meter factors, hanging burners, etc. is required. Must be able to use Correction, Prevention and Improvement (CPI) System to document problems encountered or ideas for improvement. Ability to use MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and navigate Halworld is required. Must have successfully completed cross training to the level of Specialist I in a minimum of two PSL/sub PSL or qualified as an assessor or conduct Field OE, HMS/, Competency audits.

Recruiting for a local Angolan Reservoir Engineer position in Luanda on a staff basis with my international E&P client to work on Non-operated asset.

I am looking for at least 2 years Reservoir Engineering Experience with an E&P Operator background.

Experience in both in reservoir studies and field development is required along with a Petroleum Engineering Degree.

  • Carry out detailed studies to provide production forecasts and reserves estimates for various field development scenarios (including development with and without fluid injection). The results of the studies will help in the selection of the most optimal / economic development plan. The studies will involve some or all of the following:
  • Dynamic reservoir simulation (e.g. using ECLIPSE);
  • Material Balance analysis (e.g. using MBAL);
  • Well performance analysis/design/optimization (e.g. using PROSPER);
  • Building of Integrated Asset Models to ensure that the surface facilities constraints are properly taken into account in the production forecasts;
  • Decline Curve Analysis.
  • Carry out Well Test analysis (e.g. using Interpret, Ecrin).
  • Carry out production optimization studies as required.
  • Properly document all the studies.
  • Provide reservoir engineering contributions to be included in the documentation needed for obtaining internal project approval.
  • In conjunction with staff from other sections, make data acquisition plans and follow-up the implementation (e.g. DST, PVT, MDT/SFT/Geotap/Stethoscope, PLT, cores, etc.).

The Senior Energy Specialist will play a key role in the strategic, advisory, and operational work of the Energy practice in Burkina Faso. The Senior Energy Specialist’s primary responsibilities will be to prepare, appraise, negotiate and supervise complex energy projects in selected countries in West and Central Africa. S/he will actively participate in overseeing implementation of energy operations with the aim to enhance quality and accelerate implementation. The focus of the position will include utility focused projects for generation, transmission, and distribution investments, energy access, and sector policy dialogue.

The Senior Energy Specialist should lead an active Bank policy dialogue with clients and other stakeholders on strategic energy issues and implementation of the region’s ongoing energy sector reforms. This includes the promotion of regional power trade and advancing prospect for development of cross-border interconnections. The Senior Energy Specialist will also maintain sufficient knowledge of individual operations and activities (including those not managed by him/her) to be able to identify and help resolve project-specific or systemic issues.

The candidate will be required to lead and contribute to analytical and advisory work. This includes supporting the development of national and regional analytical activities and advising governments. In doing this, the senior energy specialist will be expected to forge partnerships with organizations and individuals which can both better inform the Bank’s energy strategies, and also result in higher quality implementation and impact of Bank-supported programs. This will require effective communication and outreach to key stakeholders including client governments, academia, civil society organizations, media, other development partners and other Bank units.

Candidates must meet the generic criteria for international level GG: Sustained record of achieving high-quality substantive results over an extended period (typically at least 8 years).

  • Master’s degree in finance, energy planning, engineering, economics, or related field

Job Description

  • Support export cargo accounting reconciliation, loading, storage, transfer and discharge of crude oil in a safe and efficient manner. Also support the offtake operation in conjunction with the Operations team
  • Support production of detailed loading/discharge plans maintaining the vessel’s condition of draft, trim, stress and bending moments within acceptable limits at all times
  • Maintain a safe and positive pressure regime in the cargo spaces at all times and ensure tank atmosphere monitoring equipment is available and functioning
  • Produce daily stock reports of oil in storage and stock reconciliation after each tanker offtake and assist in the preparation of all documentation associated with the export of crude oil from the installation
  • Liaise with external parties, stakeholders and government representatives involved in oil lifting in the EA/Bonga terminals and in all aspects pertaining to offtake operations
  • Operate slop tank system, including clean water overboard discharge, in accordance with the installation operating procedures and; operate all tank cleaning equipment and supervise all tank entries and measurements
  • Ensure correct operation of the radar system and carry out first line maintenance on all equipment under his control. Also, act as Permit to Work “Area Authority” for all marine systems.
  • Assist in preparing cargo, ballast, and slop oil tanks for entry and subsequent return to service when required, including all isolation and cleaning requirements.
  • Ensure the Single Point Mooring Buoy and associated equipment is available at all times for crude oil export.
  • Assist Marine Supervisor in security matters, relief Port Facility Security officer as required
  • Support loading, transfer and discharge of ballast water in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist in the utilisation of ballast systems to ensure the installation does not exceed minimum or maximum draft requirements, stress or bending moment parameters.
  • Ensure that the deployment, utilisation and recovery of the offtake systems are carried out in a safe and efficient manner also; ensure that sufficient replacement offtake equipment is on board or available to minimise downtime in the event of component failure
  • Support the maintenance of the Safety Case and the implementation of the Safety Management System.


  • Valid STCW95 Deck Officer Class 2 certificate with tanker endorsement. A Deck Officer Class 3 certificate may be acceptable subject to relevant experience
  • A minimum of 3 years sea time on tankers and at least 5 years’ experience in the maritime industry.
  • Experience in the operation of a crude oil terminal and Single Point Mooring buoys would be an advantage

•             Analyses the refining industry worldwide and monitors and assesses its short- to medium-term developments in terms of distillation and various conversion capacities, regional configuration schemes and favorable refinery operational modes according to seasonal demand patterns;

•             Examines price links between products in the main markets, i.e. the level of arbitrage trading;

•             Examines the effect of stricter product specifications in the medium term in major consuming countries on refined product supply and hence product price trends;
