TOTAL’s Ivoire-1 Is Among The World’s Top 5

TOTAL operated Ivoire Exploration well offshore Cote d’Ivoire, is among the top five discoveries made in the first half of 2013, according to a blog World Oil and Gas . The blog didn’t give any specific scientific reason for the ranking of those wells. Ivoire-1, , drilled to 5,044 meters in the western portion of Block CI-100 – Oil, encountering 28 meters of net oil pay in a series of about 100 meters of Cretaceous reservoirs, is listed along with with Chevron’s Coronado Prospect, drilled to TD of 9,713 m (31,866 feet) in March 2013, approximately 308 km off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf Of Mexico.
Coronado’s footage is in excess of 122 m of net pay; Anadarko’s Shenandoah-2, Gulf of Mexico, drilled to 31,405 feet in March 2013 in the Walker Ridge block 51, encountering over 328 m of oil pay; Petrobras’ Santos Basin, Rio de Janeiro, May 2013, 235 km off the coast of rio de janeiro state – oil encountered: good quality, 26 degrees api (american petroleum institute) – drill depth: 5,580 meters and Statoil, Harpoon Prospect, Newfoundland- Canada, June 2013, approximately 6.2 miles (10 kilometres) southeast of Statoil’s Mizzen discovery – Oil Encountered: Estimated to hold 100-200 MMbbl of oil – Drill Depth: 3,608 feet (1,100 meters) of water
