Senior Staff Geologist, based in Houston, to work on West African projects.
An international oil and gas operating company, with a global portfolio of projects, ranging from onshore, offshore, carbonate and clastic work, is currently looking to add a Senior Geologist to work on West Africa projects.

Suitable Candidates
*Minimum 10 years exploration and production geosciences experience, mostly operating, with reputable company.
*Experience working in W. Africa
*Demonstrated ability to generate exploration ideas and follow them through to drilling
*Understanding of the Petroleum System components for exploration
*Knowledge and experience of interpreting deepwater depositional systems
*Exploration experience, Deepwater experience, Turbidites or Clastics, preferably but not absolutely West Africa experience
*Exposure to, and reporting of, ongoing drilling operations
*Preferably some exposure to appraisal and/or development projects
*Understanding of geological techniques including rock and fluid analysis
*Well-log interpretation software, contouring packages and volumetric calculation skills required
*Must have a knowledge of deepwater depositional systems, particularly seismic/sequence stratigraphy
Your Key Duties will include
*Perform regional and prospect specific geological studies resulting in the generation of drillable prospects within our West Africa licenses
*Work closely with geophysicists, engineers, management, partners and government to ensure the best prospects are identified and quantified.
*Incorporate commercial and strategic thinking into technical evaluation.
*Continuously update suitable play analysis for our blocks and the region.
*Use regional evaluations to recommend areas of interest, around our existing blocks
