Richardson Tackles ‘The Environment and Its Management’

Richardson Oil and Gas is focusing on Environmental Management at the sixth edition of its annual forum.

The Nigerian consulting firm promises to assemble a cast of ranking upstream petroleum professionals and energy bureaucrats over two days in late September 2014, “to discuss Health Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) best practices and relevant global issues”, according to Akin Osuntoki, its Chief Executive Officer. “The theme is Sustainable Environmental Management Issues, Challenges and Solutions”.

Richardson organizes the forum in partnership with Process Safety and Reliability Group (PSRG), its American technical partners. Osuntoki says his company anticipates a bigger event this year than last, “a larger participation from more sectors of the economy as well as a greater international presence in the form of speakers and guests”. He is sure of hosting “over one thousand participants from across major industries to include Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Banking, Insurance, Shipping, etc, both domestic and international will attend the event”. He believes “this will provide an invaluable networking opportunity for major players from various sectors”.

Last year’s PSRG-RICHARDSON forum was chaired by Chike Onyejekwe, (then) Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO). It also had, as guest speaker, Julliette Twumasi-Anokye of the Ghana Petroleum Commission. Oil companies, Investment Banks and Insurance Entities exhibited products and services. Osuntoki expects more of the same and says the company will include, this time “participation of Educational Institutions to achieve our aim of ‘catching them young’”.

The event holds at the Eko Hotel and Suites from September 23 to September 24, 2014.
