Plans three well drilling campaign in mid-2015
Nigerian independent Britannia U has returned to production of the Ajapa field, after two months spent rehabilitating the field’s Floating Storage Offshore (FSO) facility.
Ajapa is currently producing 4,000BOPD, from two wells. Britannia U plans to drill three more wells, starting from mid-2015, to maintain and possibly increase the output. The company is reportedly shopping for a jack up rig in Singapore for the planned drilling campaign.
Ajapa field, located in Chevron operated shallow water Oil Mining Lease (OML) 90,is one of 24 marginal fields granted to 31 Nigerian companies in 2003. It was brought on stream in January 2010, with operator Britannia U selling directly to Chevron, which transports the crude oil by shuttle barge to Escravos export terminal.
