M&P Halts Production in Gabon, Talks of Force Majeure

French independent Maurel et Prom says it has completely shut down its crude oil production in Gabon, averaging 29,000Barrels of Oil Per Day.

The company says that a break in the 12-inch export pipeline transporting crude oil from its fields in the Ezanga permit, “led to a force majeure situation”. The break in the pipeline (the company doesn’t say whether it is sabotage, accident, or rupture due to integrity issues), happened in a forested area. The company is hoping to resume production by this weekend. M&P is 80%) operator of Ezanga permit.
