- Conduct morning calls and review morning reports from the oil rig with the Oil rig Supervisor at the rig site and the Oil rig Engineer. Ensure the operations are conducted in the best interest of the Company. Discusses future operations plans with the Oil rig Supervisor and the Oil rig Engineer in an effort to optimize and eliminate problems.
- Communicate effectively with the Oil rig Supervisor and Oil rig Engineer to ensure that all technical specifications of the Oil rig Program and Oil rig Manual are met.
- Encourage an atmosphere of teamwork among the oil rig staff, rig site personnel, service providers and other disciplines.
- Conduct meetings through the term of the contracts, with service providers, to increase the efficiency of the service and help reduce or eliminate any potential problems.
- Provide technical trouble shooting when problems occur on the oil rig.
- Perform periodic evaluations for the Oil rig Supervisors, Oil rig Engineers and Oil rig Technicians.
- Monitor oil rig expenditures on a daily basis with the goal of oil rig the most cost effective wells possible.
- Review equipment planning with Oil rig Engineer, Oil rig Supervisors and the Material & Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely equipment arrivals and to eliminate equipment overstocking.
- Coordinate with the Oil rig Engineer, Material & Logistics Coordinator & Oil rig supervisors the timely arrival of oil rig equipment and services on wellsite.
- Ensure that the production meets the objectives of the Reservoir, Production, and Geological departments.
- Encourage and support HSE training and implementation of new procedures and guidelines. Attend the bi-weekly safety meeting in the field.
- Prepare monthly oil rig operations reports
- Technical review of all oil rig programs and final well reports.
- Perform wellsite inspections to ensure that safety programs are conducted and monitored by the oil rig contractors in a manner consistent with HSE policies in conjunction with the Senior Oil rig Supervisors’ site specific HSE plan.
Basic Requirements:
- Experience as Production Supervisor Level with offshore/onshore rigs.
- Must have previous working experience in West Africa (Niger Delta).
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a combination of operational and business assignments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in onshore and offshore oil rig with focus in supervisory and management roles.
- Industry training in areas of drilling/production technology, offshore operations, HSE and contracts management.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and business skills.
- Good data management and computer literacy.
- Specific petroleum engineering qualifications.
