  • The Federal University of Petroleum Resources calls for applications for admission into its innovative and interdisciplinary postgraduate programme in its FUPRE Energy Business School. The new programme is timely and relevant as the global energy landscape evolves.

The FUPRE Energy Business School offers professional Masters and Doctorate degrees in Petroleum and Energy Studies, which are consistent with the mandate of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources to build workforce capacity, sharpen the skills of professional talents, provide the requisite managerial skillsets, and stimulate the application of analytical tools in managing the Nigeria petroleum and power sector.

Doctorate Programme in

Petroleum and Energy Studies 

The professional Doctoral degree in Petroleum and Energy Studies programme has three degree options: Doctor in Petroleum Economics and Management, DPEM; Doctor in Energy Economics and Management, DEEM; and Doctor in Sustainanle Energy and Management, DSEM.

The Doctoral Programme of seeks to:

      • Equip students with good understanding of the philosophies, theories and concepts underlying the economics and management of petroleum, energy resources, and power industries in the energy transition era.
  • Build the capacity of professionals in essential applied research skills for the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of petroleum and energy policy interventions;
  • Engage students with leadership, communication, team-building and simulation skills to facilitate the management of petroleum and energy resources to maximize investment returns and policies for sustainable national development; and,
  • Equip students with the appropriate skills and tools for scientific research in the petroleum and energy sector to appraise policy and global best practices.

Masters in Petroleum and Energy Studies Programme:

The professional Masters in Petroleum and Energy studies aim to produce graduates with strong skillset for analytical and critical thinking, managerial decision-making and advocacy with respect to policy formulation, investment decision analysis, petroleum, energy economics, management and policy. There are three areas of specialisations.

Master in Energy Economics and Management, MEEM.

The MEEM programme seeks to equip:

  • Students with critical knowledge and skills underlying the management and development of Energy resources for national development;
  • Students with essential skill-sets for the development, implementation, evaluation and management of energy policy interventions;
  • Students with leadership, communication, team-building and simulation skills to facilitate the management of energy resources to maximize investment returns and policies for sustainable national development.
  • Students with practical and vocational skills that defines hands-on status of the programme.

Master in Petroleum Economics and Management, MPEM.

The MPEM programme aims to:

  • Provide students with essential knowledge and skills for effectively managing and developing petroleum resources to contribute to national development.
  • Equip students with the necessary skill sets for formulating, implementing, evaluating, and managing interventions in petroleum policy.
  • Foster leadership, communication, team-building, and simulation skills in students to enable the effective management of petroleum resources, optimizing investment returns, and implementing policies for sustainable national development.
  • Instill practical and vocational skills in students that reflect the hands-on nature of the program.

Master in Sustainable Energy and Management, MSEM

The MSEM program aims to:

  • Provide students with crucial knowledge and skills foundational to the management and development of sustainable energy resources for national development.
  • Equip students with essential skill sets for the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of interventions in sustainable energy policy.
  • Foster leadership, communication, team-building, and simulation skills in students to facilitate the effective management of energy resources, optimizing investment returns, and implementing policies for sustainable national development.
  • Instill practical and vocational skills in students that characterize the hands-on nature of the program.
